The short version: Lumen is a small iOS app made with care. Use it however helps you. Don't try to break it or resell it, and understand it comes with no warranty.
By downloading or using Lumen ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms are between you and the makers of Lumen. Apple is not a party to these terms, but the App Store's standard EULA also applies.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use Lumen on Apple devices you own or control, subject to Apple's App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute, or resell the app or any of its content, except as permitted by law.
Anything you create in Lumen — events, countdowns, photos, notes — belongs to you. Lumen stores this content locally on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your personal iCloud. We don't access, claim, or use your content. See the privacy policy for details.
Please don't use Lumen to do anything illegal, infringe someone else's rights, or attempt to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the app or any service it connects to (such as Unsplash). Don't use the app in a way that violates Apple's App Store guidelines.
Lumen may offer optional in-app purchases or subscriptions. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple — see Apple's refund process.
Lumen connects to Unsplash when you search for photo covers. Photos returned by Unsplash are subject to the Unsplash License. We're not responsible for content provided by Unsplash or any other third party.
We may release updates to Lumen from time to time, change features, or discontinue the app. We'll do our best to provide notice of meaningful changes through the App Store release notes, but we can't guarantee continuous availability of the app or any feature.
Lumen is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. You use the app at your own risk. Don't rely on Lumen alone for time-critical events.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the makers of Lumen will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the app, including any data loss. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You can stop using Lumen at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these terms. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (license restrictions, no warranty, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and note significant changes in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
